While the company quickly identified and addressed the issue, the timing couldn’t have been worse, coinciding with new feature launches and updates.

• The Outage: ChatGPT, Sora, and the API went offline due to a configuration change that caused server disruptions. OpenAI shared updates throughout the day and had things mostly back on track by the evening.
