KEEP YOUR EYE ON IT

💰 OpenAI’s Pricey AI Agents

OpenAI is reportedly planning to launch specialized AI “agents” with price tags reaching up to $20,000 per month. These agents are designed for tasks like sales, software development, and research—catering to businesses willing to pay a premium for automation.

🚀 AI Agents for High-Income Professionals

One of OpenAI’s upcoming agents is designed for “high-income knowledge workers,” with a reported cost of $2,000 per month.

🖥️ A Developer’s Assistant - at $10K/Month

For software engineers, OpenAI may offer an AI agent priced at $10,000 monthly, aimed at streamlining coding tasks.

🎓 AI for PhD-Level Research - $20K a Month

The most expensive agent, rumored at $20,000 per month, is said to support advanced research, potentially competing with expert analysts and researchers.

💵 OpenAI’s Financial Pressure

With SoftBank committing $3 billion to these AI agents, OpenAI is betting big. But it needs the revenue - last year, the company reportedly lost around $5 billion due to operational costs.

🤖 Anthropic Quietly Drops Biden-Era AI Commitments

Anthropic has removed key AI safety commitments it made under the Biden administration, signaling a shift in policy. The deletions, first spotted by AI watchdog group The Midas Project, raise questions about the company’s stance on AI governance.

🔍 What Commitments Were Removed?

Anthropic eliminated pledges related to AI risk management, bias research, and transparency. However, commitments to combat AI-generated sexual abuse remain intact.

🏛️ Political Shifts and AI Governance

With Trump’s repeal of Biden’s AI executive order, the U.S. government’s AI priorities have changed. The new administration focuses on AI “free from ideological bias” but omits prior efforts to curb AI discrimination.

🏢 Tech Firms Reassess Their Policies

Anthropic isn’t alone—OpenAI recently removed its public commitment to DEI and pledged to support “intellectual freedom.” Other AI firms are adjusting their policies as well.

📢 Anthropic Responds

After the changes were reported, Anthropic clarified that it remains committed to the voluntary AI pledges and will update its transparency center to reflect this.

🔍 Google Search Gets ‘AI Mode’ for Deeper, Smarter Queries

Google is rolling out AI Mode, an experimental feature that enhances Search with advanced AI capabilities. Available to Google One AI Premium subscribers via Search Labs, AI Mode aims to compete with Perplexity AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search.

🚀 What’s New?

  • Ask Complex Questions: AI Mode handles multi-part queries and follow-ups effortlessly.

  • Smarter Responses: Uses Gemini 2.0 for advanced reasoning and multimodal insights.

  • Verified Information: Prioritizes factual responses with supporting sources.

🔬 How It Works

AI Mode employs a “query fan-out” technique, running multiple related searches simultaneously to generate detailed, easy-to-understand responses. If confidence is low, it defaults to web links for accuracy.

📲 How to Access

  • Desktop: Visit google.com/aimode or enable it via Search Labs.

  • Mobile: Open the Google app and tap the “AI Mode” icon.

🎯 Bonus Updates

  • Gemini 2.0 now powers AI Overviews, handling coding, advanced math, and multimodal queries.

  • No sign-in required to access AI Overviews.

  • Now available for teens in the U.S.

🔮 Will AI Mode revolutionize search, or is it just another step toward AI-powered browsing? As Google refines this feature, its impact on how we explore information could be game-changing.
